Imperialists are more ferocious before the weak but turn tail before the strong.

It is a revelation of weakness rather than strength that they are throwing their weight around as they blackmail other countries.

As their crisis worsens and their downfall approaches, they are resorting more desperately to war and aggression.

Since the end of the Cold War the US, chieftain of imperialism, gripped by a high opinion of its strength, has pursued a unilateral hegemonistic strategy while indulging in political pressure on, overt intervention in and outright military invasion of those countries which get on its nerves.

In particular, it was hell-bent on putting the whole world under its control on the pretext of “war on terror.”

Such an extreme exercise of force, however, fuelled the instability of the international situation and the incessant arms race the world over, but could not turn back the trend of the times towards independence. Rather, it backfired as it gave further impetus to the worldwide trend of independence against imperialism.

This has greatly altered the power structure between the Western countries and the newly emerging countries in the international arena and, in turn, posed a growing challenge to the hegemonic order of the imperialists.

The DPRK, with a firm stand of independence in politics and self-reliance in defence and on the basis of its inexhaustible war deterrence, has taken a tough approach against the extremely vicious attempts of the US and its lackeys to stifle it. Over the past decades it has proceeded with hardline policies in the face-off with imperialism.

In the 1950s the country, less than two years after its founding, took on US imperialism that boasted more than a hundred years of war experience, and worked a historic miracle of beating down the latter and defending its pride and honour.

In the whole course of its development it has never opted for compromise or concession in the face of the persistent threat and blackmail of imperialism.

In the 1990s, when the imperialist allied forces mounted a full-scale offensive, it upheld the banner of military build-up and established its reputation as the citadel of independence and justice. The imperialists, who were talking about the collapse of the DPRK, could not but recognize their failure in their anti-DPRK policy in the face of the latter’s impregnable single-minded unity of the entire population and tough measures.

The history of the DPRK’s brilliant victory in the showdown with the US and imperialism still goes on.

The DPRK, a global nuclear power, has put an end to the years when the US unilaterally threatened the former with nukes, and it is now playing a pivotal role in ensuring security in the region by dint of its unrivalled absolute power and irresistible military prowess. The rise of the DPRK, which has achieved global recognition, has upended the power landscape in East Asia, vital to the US strategy for hegemony.

The DPRK has created military miracles by successively emerging victorious in the confrontation with imperialism and built up its defence capabilities so powerful as to guarantee its national security and the eternal wellbeing of its future generations. Such a proud reality drives home the truth that genuine peace is guaranteed by building up powerful strength.

Today the imperialist reactionary forces led by the US are trying more desperately to enlist their followers and launch an offensive against forces aspiring to independence in their futile attempt to keep their weakening hegemonic position.

Having formed such military blocs as QUAD and AUKUS in the Asia-Pacific region, they are desperately trying to turn the power structure in the region in their favour by strengthening the collusion with the NATO, Japan and puppet ROK.

Nevertheless, the world’s progressive people aspiring to independence see the wretchedness of the perishing outdated forces in their reckless frenzy.

Recently it has been often heard from Western media and experts that gone are the days when the West held sway over other regions and its strategy for keeping its dominant and hegemonic position in the international order has failed.

The times when the imperialists were calling the shots have already become a thing of the past.

The tougher the countries aspiring to independence against imperialism get on the imperialists’ high-handedness and arbitrariness, the earlier the old era will come to an end and the more vigorously the era of independence advances.
