The Korean people are now making great efforts to attain the ambitious goal set forth by the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea in February 2026.
The Ninth Congress of the WPK put forward long-term targets of socialist economic construction, including those of different sectors such as capital city construction, regional development and rural construction, which should be carried out during the period of a new five-year plan and the tasks for their realization.
The Korean people have accumulated potential, self-confidence, wisdom, experience and capability enough to overfulfil these tasks. This is well evidenced by what they have done over the past five years in their efforts to carry out the struggle programme set forth by the Eighth Party Congress.
They almost fulfilled the five-year plan for national economic development and opened up the possibility to boost the overall economy all at once. They also built regional-industry factories, modern healthcare facilities and leisure complexes in scores of cities and counties across the country and facelifted rural villages.
They pushed ahead with the 50 000-flat construction project in Pyongyang year after year, building dwelling houses and new streets much more than planned, and completed the construction of dwelling houses in the Komdok area as planned. The Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area, the Onpho Working People’s Holiday Camp, large-scale greenhouse farms equipped with highly intensive, optimized and intelligent production lines sprang up. And the Samgwang Livestock Farm under the Rural Economy Committee of North Phyongan Province was built as a new model for socialist rural construction and the development of livestock farming in the new era.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un told the Ninth Party Congress that the mode and spirit of advance of the Korean revolution making greater successes and changes will continue to be carried forward in the future, too, and all fields of socialist construction will reach a higher stage of development.
It is the fighting spirit and stamina of the Korean people to accelerate epoch-making transformation by bringing about steady innovations and ceaseless upsurge under the leadership of the Party.
Every year the country is undergoing a facelift with its wealth increasing for the good of the people, and along with this the Korean revolution is following step by step the course of innovation and leap forward. This has become an irreversible trend and a mode of its advance.
