The Sangwon Cement Complex, a DPRK’s giant cement producer, is boosting production as never before.
The Sangwon Limestone Mine is overfulfilling its daily plan by securing enough reserve ores and expanding the production capacity of mining equipment. Following suit, other units are renewing production results every day.
This year alone the complex produced a large quantity of cement and sent it to the socialist construction sites.
In 2025, the last year in implementing the five-year plan set forth by the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the workers at the complex boosted hundreds of thousands of tons of cement, ten times as much as the amount of the increased output in the previous year, thus injecting great vigour into each site of socialist construction. In this way they made an outstanding contribution to the proud reviewing of the tasks set by the Party.
On March 1, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un paid a congratulatory visit to the Sangwon Cement Complex ahead of others soon after the Ninth Congress of the WPK to encourage its workers who are out in the new struggle to implement the decisions of the Party Congress.
Noting that there are a number of large and important enterprises in the country, but none of them has such a group of staunch and militant workers as Sangwon workers, he highly appreciated the 40-odd-year history of the complex which glorified the appellation of the powerful enterprise that is able to do anything it decides to do, and particularly the success which the complex attained during the years of the eighth term of the Party Central Committee, as it strongly supported through practical cement production the Party’s plan of achieving remarkable progress and overall upsurge in socialist construction and opened up the greatest heyday of operation since its inauguration by expanding its production capacity and making ceaseless efforts for increased production.
He expressed his great belief that the workers and officials of the complex would continue to glorify the honourable history and traditions of Sangwon, which he said has been a constant source of great strength and reliance for the Party.
Encouraged by his belief that the more actively the complex supports and the bigger progress it makes, the greater vitality for overall state development the country’s struggle will gain, the workers of Sangwon are redoubling efforts to attain the huge production goal set forth by the Ninth Party Congress.
