Pak Song Jin was among the top ten coaches of the DPRK in 2025.
The football coach learned the rudiments of football from his childhood before he was scouted by a professional sports club after graduating from middle school. He proved successful in domestic and international games. Afterwards, he studied at Kim Chol Ju University of Education and then worked as a coach and chief coach of the April 25 Sports Club.
He did his successful part in leading the national women’s team participating in international games including the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship in 2019 and the 19th Asian Games.
In the run-up to the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, he made a detailed and comprehensive analysis of the physical and technical abilities of the players. On the basis of this, he worked out a training plan conducive to giving full play to their potentials and fulfilled it with persistent determination, while demanding each player train themselves with a focus on further perfecting their forte.
He also held consultative meetings with researchers to complete tactics for maximizing the players’ merits while giving training in a simulated game situation.
His painstaking efforts paid off as his team won the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
Throughout the tournament, the DPRK team scored 25 goals, beating all the rivals.
The team scored the largest number of goals in the tournament, and became the first Asian team to make two consecutive wins and the first four-time World Cup champion.
Some of his team won the Golden and Silver Ball awards and Adidas Gold and Silver Boot awards. All these successes are unthinkable apart from his role.
