Pyongyang General Hospital is located on the banks of the picturesque Taedong River in the capital city of Pyongyang.
Inaugurated in November last year, the hospital is a comprehensive medical centre whose architectural style, components and space environment are all designed to help patients remain stable both mentally and psychologically, and which meets the general requirements of modern architecture. The specialized facilities and equipment of all its systems meet all health and hygienic standards, and they help ensure the scientific accuracy and smoothness of medical service.
It has an image diagnosis department, emergency department, general experimental test department, specialized departments such as the dental department and intensive care department, general operating theatre, inpatient wards, service facilities, conference hall and helipad among others.
With the help of up-to-date medical equipment, it provides a very rational and effective medical service for diagnosis, treatment and health promotion.
At the general operating theatre, dozens of operations can be conducted all at once.
The hospital boasts talented personnel and a service system which puts the whole course of medical operations on an intelligent and IT basis.
The sick rooms are furnished with multi-functional beds, refrigerators, bathrooms and TV sets and are designed to automatically measure and observe the vital signs and health conditions of the patients and provide satisfactory convenience to their hospitalization.
“The hospital’s medical service and environment is second to none,” said Jong Ok Hwa, an old resident in Rungna Neighbourhood Unit No. 2 in Taedonggang District of Pyongyang who was hospitalized at the neural internal treatment department. “It seems like a hotel, not a hospital. A day slips here almost unnoticed as the doctors and nurses take great care of patients. The hospital will bring you back to life.”
