Policies have long been enforced in the DPRK to provide prolific mothers with sufficient living conditions.
One of the preferential state measures for families with many children is to allocate dwelling houses to them.
The state makes sure that houses are preferentially provided to such families lest they feel inconvenience in their life and they are among the first to receive new houses.
Such families who settled in Rimhung Street built last year amount to several hundred.
A few years ago, the state began to issue medical treatment cards to the women who bring up more than three children, and the women and their children with a certificate of a family with many children are entitled to receive medical treatment on a preferential basis at hospitals at all levels.
When a woman with more than three children reaches the pension age, she is to enjoy state benefit, irrespective of the length of her service, while a woman with more than two children is to get state benefit once the length of her service is 15 years or more.
Under the benefits of the socialist system the families with many children bring up their children admirably, receiving more childcare benefits than others.
The 37th Plenary Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea held in last August adopted the Law of the DPRK on Preferential Treatment of Families with Many Children.
Every woman who brings up many children says: The more children we have, the more benefits we enjoy in our country.
