A few months ago the aerial sports competition of the professional sports field was held as part of the 14th National People’s Sports Contest, in which the Pyongyang Municipal Aviation Club stood out again with high performance in the parachute and flight control of model airplanes.
Last year, too, the club won the events in the national sports festival, technical innovation contest and youth championships.
In the contest attended by men and women players selected from the provincial aviation clubs, the Pyongyang municipal team snatched a total of over 20 medals, including eight golds, in all categories.
In the event of parachuting, they took the first place in all of the four categories by fully displaying a high degree of parachute controlling skill.
Previously, the coaches of the club gave the players an auxiliary training combined with simulation and representation on the ground so as to increase the rate of accurate landing.
Chief coach Kim Ae Suk said that the team could achieve good results in the recent contest as she had set the number of parachuting to suit the characteristics of each player and trained them so that they could properly control the apparatus according to the weather change.
In the model aircraft event, the players improved the performance and traction of the model airplanes and ensured their stability by using the fuselage newly made in keeping with the global trend of the development of the model aviation technology.
The team also came first in the individual and team events of remote-controlled acrobatic flight.
Now the players of the Pyongyang Municipal Aviation Club are pooling their wisdom and energy to bring about good results in international games, while further consolidating already-achieved successes.
