An event was held at EastPyongyang Stadium on May 23 to mark AFC Grassroots Football Day.
Present there were officials ofthe DPRK Football Association and the sports field and teachers and students ofPyongyang International Football School and reserve training units inPyongyang.
Kim Il Guk, chairman of theFootball Association and minister of Physical Culture and Sports, made remarks.
He said that many students whoare involved in the country’s well-regulated system of training reserve playersare honing basic football skills with a resolve to fly the flag of the DPRK inthe sky over the world and that the excellent players, who have been trained atPyongyang International Football School and other reserve training units in thecourse of this, have exalted the honour of the country in international games.
He called for training a largernumber of talents who will contribute to the development of football of thecountry and arousing public interest in football so as to make more people loveand enjoy the sport and thus guarantee a bright future of football of thecountry.
Then the participants spent apleasant time playing various sports and amusements games, a football match,penalty shoot-out and others, divided into two teams.
