All the people across the DPRK significantly celebrated May Day.
Streets and villages in Pyongyang and provinces, cities and counties, industrial establishments and farms were filled with joy and optimism of the workers, farmers, intellectuals and other patriotic working people enjoying colourful sports and amusement games.
At the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the visitors solemnly recalled the sacred life of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il , who built a socialist state where the people are the masters and glorified the dignity and honour of the working masses at the highest level.
Officials, working people, service personnel, youth and schoolchildren visited the statues of the great leaders on Mansu Hill and in other parts of the country and mosaics depicting the peerlessly great men and laid flower baskets, bouquets and flowers before paying tribute to them.
At the Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at the Overseas Military Operations, the visitors looked round photos of the martyrs and relics and materials showing their feats.
Officials of the Party and power organs across the country significantly celebrated May Day together with working people.
They congratulated the working class on making innovative successes day by day by devoting their sincere sweat and efforts to successfully carrying out the first-year tasks of the new five-year plan set forth by the Party.
Colourful performances were given at theatres and outdoor stages in the capital city and other parts of the country, adding to the festive mood of the holiday.
Public catering establishments in Pyongyang and local areas gave diverse services to the working people, and cultural recreation grounds including the Central Zoo and the Natural History Museum were crowded with people enjoying the holiday.
