The women across the country significantly celebrated the 116th March 8 International Women's Day.
A lot of people visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the supreme temple of Juche where the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il are laid in state.
Entering the plaza of the palace, they looked back with deep emotion upon the undying exploits of the great leaders who provided the noble tradition of the Juche-oriented women's movement and made women masters playing an important role in the revolution.
Lots of working people laid floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before the bronze statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and other parts of the country and paid homage to them.
Officials of the provinces, cities and counties, institutions, industrial establishments, farms and universities met and congratulated exemplary women workers and innovators on the occasion of the March 8 International Women's Day. Political and cultural activities were conducted, including meeting with Communist Mother Honour Prize winners and real story-telling.
Congratulatory performances were given in the capital city and the provinces.
Working people enjoyed themselves at the public catering establishments in Pyongyang and other parts of the country and at the bases for cultural and leisure activities including the Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum and the Munsu Water Park.
Souvenir shops and flower shops and kiosks throughout the country were crowded with people buying bouquets and flowers for women.
