A well-regulated nationwide system is in place in the DPRK for producing and supplying school uniforms and assessing their quality.
For example, a national school uniforms show has been taking place for three years. So far the event has been held on nine occasions.
Exhibited in the show in September this year were the spring and autumn uniforms for boy and girl students of primary and senior middle schools and male university students, plus more than 400 jigs of over 30 kinds invented and introduced by the provincial school uniform factories.
Each show contributes to improving the quality of uniforms, allowing the participating provinces and uniform factories to share and transfer good experience and techniques in the processing and design of each part of the school-specific uniforms.
An official at the Phyongsong School Uniform Factory in South Phyongan Province said that the quality of uniforms manufactured by his factory improves as the number of its participation in the show increases.
