The Pyongyang General Hospital, a first-class hospital which can be the pivot and hub of the public health sector, was wonderfully built in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
And the construction of city and county hospitals is promoted in all parts of the country to implement the regional development policy.
It is aimed at building a civilized state where all the people enjoy substantial benefits and protection of the superior health system regardless of their regions by promoting the overall public health of the country with the Pyongyang General Hospital as a model medical centre.
On February 27, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un looked round the completed Pyongyang General Hospital.
That day, he said public health is also an important element and criterion of the national power and that the role of the public health sector is more important in our people-centred socialist society.
At the groundbreaking ceremony of a hospital and a leisure complex in Kangdong County on February 6, Kim Jong Un said: To put the reconstruction of hospitals in cities and counties in parallel with the construction of the general hospital in the capital city is in keeping with the mission of the socialist public health to take responsibility for the life and health of the entire population; it is also in full accord with the new regional development policy, and this is just the road to the fastest development based on the advantages of our system.
It was his plan to build a first-class general hospital as a model for the promotion of the people's health and set up modern hospitals in all cities and counties to bring advanced medical service facilities closer to the regional people so that all of them can freely enjoy the benefits of modern medicine.
That is why he considered the public health to be an important element and criterion of the national power.
