Farms across the country have harvested good crops this year.
The credit goes to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who has indicated how to do farming well this year and led the effort with his outstanding wisdom and scientific acumen.
At the Ninth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea in December last year, he put forward tasks and ways to steadily boost the country’s agricultural productivity, pointing to the need to push ahead with the mechanization of the rural economy, completion of the irrigation system and tideland reclamation.
At the beginning of the year, he visited the farm machine exhibition hall to specify how to work out the strategy for the development of farm machines and speed up the modernization and capacity building of the farm machine production sector, and indicated the tasks to this end. At the Tenth Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK he called for bringing a bumper harvest this year again and some days later stressed the need repeatedly to take action against drought.
He took proper measures when crops were affected by drought, diseases and insects in several parts of the country.
Therefore, high-performance tractors came into full operation in the Paektu area, combined soil preparation machines proved themselves in the fields of South Hwanghae Province, and many cities and counties invented and manufactured different efficient farm machines, contributing to boost in agricultural production.
All farms produced organic fertilizers of good quality and brought them to paddy fields, and the whole country turned out and transplanted rice seedlings by mid-May on the areas almost twice as wide as those in the same period of last year.
Tangible achievements were made amid the timely, persistent implementation of all farming processes.
Farms around the country brought about laudable results in earlier crop farming although the areas to cultivate wheat remarkably increased as against last year.
The Paeksok Farm in Sinchon County and the Sinsaeng Farm in Chongdan County in South Hwanghae Province boosted the output by transplanting rice seedlings grown in greenhouses, while the Kasan Farm in Ryanggang Province’s Pochon County overfulfilled its grain target for the first time.
Thus, this year’s good harvest owes much to the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un .
