Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) – – The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, received a congratulatory message from Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and president of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, on March 31.
The message said:
Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un,
I, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, the government and the people of Laos and on my own behalf, extend warm congratulations to you on your reelection as President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea at the First Session of the 15th Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK held on March 22, 2026.
Still now, I remember vividly that paying an official visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on October 7-8, 2025, I and my delegation met you in Pyongyang and received a warm and grand hospitality.
I am firmly convinced that the traditional and close strategic relations of friendship and cooperation between the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea with common ideals will steadily develop in depth in the future, too, to bring substantial benefits to the peoples of the two countries and contribute to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the rest of the world.
