Officials and members of the women’s union held a meeting at the plaza of the Monument to Party Founding on March 12 to vow to implement the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
Present there were Han Kwang Ho, deputy department director of the Central Committee of the WPK, officials concerned, officials of the Central Committee of the women’s union, and officials and members of the women’s union in Pyongyang.
Jon Hyang Sun, chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Women’s Union of Korea, made a speech.
The speaker noted that all the women’s union officials and members have turned out in the general advance to lead the past five years of transformation to another five years of greater transformation with the glory and pride of invariably holding the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in high esteem as the general secretary of the WPK.
The speech of love and trust, made by Kim Jong Un to congratulate the women across the country on March 8 International Women’s Day, gives inexhaustible strength and courage to all the women’s union officials and members out in the struggle for implementing the decisions of the Party Congress, she stressed.
She called upon all the officials and members of the women’s union to fulfil the mission and duty they assumed for the times and history in order to bring prosperity and development to the country, promote the harmony and unity of society and hasten the bright future, rallied close around Kim Jong Un .
Oath-taking speeches were made.
A letter of pledge to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.
After the meeting, there was a procession of women’s union officials and members.
