Pyongyang, March 13 (KCNA) -- The 15th enlarged plenary meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) took place on March 12.
Present there were members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the GFTUK. Trade union officials from Pyongyang and provinces were present as observers.
The enlarged plenary meeting discussed the issue of implementing the important tasks set forth by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un at the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea and the First Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK and the issue of convening the Ninth Congress of the GFTUK.
Ri Won Jong, chairman of the Central Committee of the GFTUK, made a report.
The reporter said that the Ninth WPK Congress was a political event which demonstrated the will of the WPK to dynamically open up a new heyday of national prosperity, when all people's dreams and ideals come true, under the uplifted banner of the three revolutions - ideological, technological and cultural.
The report analyzed the deviations revealed in the GFTUK's past work and their causes, pointing out the measures for further developing the GFTUK into a mass political organization of the working class.
The reporter called for conducting the information and motivation work to arm the working class and trade union members with the basic idea and spirit of the Party Congress and rousing the masses to the implementation of the Party's decisions through a revolutionary ideological offensive.
Speeches were made at the meeting.
The meeting adopted relevant decisions on the basis of the study and discussion of the agenda items. -0-
