Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) — Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, received a congratulatory message from Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, on Feb. 23.
The message said:
Respected Comrade,
I extend the warmest congratulations to you on your reelection as the general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and wish you success in your work and in implementing the decisions of the Ninth Party Congress.
The historic relations between our two parties are based on the unbreakable friendship, provided by Supreme Commander Fidel Castro Ruz and the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung, and General Raul Castro Ruz and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Il, and we have inherited these relations while working at the top posts of our parties and states.
In this sense, I am recalling with special satisfaction the agreements reached during my visit to Pyongyang in November 2018 and our meeting in the People’s Republic of China in September 2025.
Availing myself of this opportunity, I affirm my special will to continue to develop the Party ties in the interest of our two countries and peoples.
