Among the medical workers at the Hospital of Kim Chaek University of Technology is Ko Hye Sun who is specially good at Koryo therapy.

She began to pay special concern to the Koryo therapy more than 30 years ago.

While reading medical books in the days of studying at the Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences, she was completely fascinated with the superiority of the Koryo medicine created and developed by the Korean nation and its mysteriously excellent prescription and wonderful curative effect.

After graduating from the university in 1995, she worked as a household doctor at the Jangchung Polyclinic in Songyo District and made redoubled efforts to raise her clinical level.

While giving treatment to residents in the area under her charge, she made a profound study of the mechanism and pathology of diseases, and different clinical symptoms according to physical constitutions and delved into the preceding experiences in treatment and advanced treatment methods.

Along with it, she made persistent researches to find out major regions for acupuncture and combine physical stimulus in medical treatment so as to raise the curative effect.

In the course, she completed a new treatment method which combined Koryo medicine and modern medicine.

With this treatment method, she completely cured a woman worker with paraplegia accompanied with incurable disease at the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex in 2023.

Afterwards, while working as a doctor of the Koryo Therapy Department at the Hospital of Kim Chaek University of Technology, she made a medical appliance capable of treating incurable disease by combining the spot stimulating therapy on acupoint and the up-to-date medical science and technology, thus making an active contribution to improving the health of teachers and students.

The "Surface-Spot Stimulating Therapy by Automatic Micro-Scanner" she completed was highly estimated at the "National Sci-Tech Successes Exhibition in the Field of Public Health--2025" for its labour-saving and clear curative effect.

"Surface-spot stimulating therapy is a new Koryo therapy which was developed for the first time in our country. A disease is treated in the way of marking a spot on the surface of the skin. In other words, a needle with dull end is used to dot on the skin a solution of drug in a syringe. It is one of good treatment methods which can make an active contribution to raising the proportion of Koryo therapy in the clinical practice."

The therapy with the effect of far infrared rays and the vibration, drug and acupoint stimulating actions proves effective in the treatment of various incurable diseases.

Ko Hye Sun is devoting all her speculation and enthusiasm to present treatment methods of greater significance in the clinical practice.
