On December 6, 2016 the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the December 6 Children’s Camp in Kangwon Province. Stepping into the entrance hall of Block No. 1 of the camp, he paused before an art work on its front wall.
The picture depicted General Kim Jong Il stopping on his inspection tour of Korean People’s Army units on the front line to see off a group of children who were going camping in delight, each with a white hat on the head.
Looking at the image of Kim Jong Il who seemed to get on the car to continue his field guidance trip, Kim Jong Un said that the art work “The General goes to the front and the children go camping” was well portrayed.
An official of the camp told him that the person who wrote The General and Children , a song reflecting the theme of the picture, is a writer of the Wonsan Children’s Hall in his province and a winner of Kim Il Sung Prize.
Appreciating the song written by the writer of the children’s hall, Kim Jong Un said in a friendly voice that it is good both in music and words.
The song, he said, highly praises the undying feats of the General who made uninterrupted inspection tours of the frontline units to safeguard the bright smile on the faces of our children.
We should defend forever the laughter and singing of the children for which the General worked heart and soul with his warm love for the future, he added.
The song still reverberates conveying the history of Kim Jong Il ’s love for the future.
