The Pukchang Thermal Power Complex has established a new process for turning fly ash into raw materials to be widely used in various sectors of the national economy.
The complex releases thousands of tons of ash every day, and when the ash from the thermal power stations across the country is put together, the amount is incredible.
Technicians at the complex confirmed the mineral engineering characteristics of the ash and the composition of silicon and aluminum in it through dozens of rounds of experiment and analysis.
On this basis, they manufactured relevant equipment and facilities capable of producing aluminum hydroxide and silicon dioxide.
And they also proved the economic effectiveness of the new raw materials obtained through the trial production. As a result, they provided a guarantee for making chemical compounds, which are widely used in the production of medicines, dental hygiene supplies, ceramics, rubber, plastics and paper. Besides, they made high-quality bricks by processing the by-products.
Now they are conducting the research to collect iron in the ash for steel production at the final stage.
