The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un works heart and soul for the construction of city and county hospitals with a noble intention to ensure the regional people not only enjoy the same material life as the citizens of the capital city but also lead a life in good health free from worries in an environment that is as cultured and hygienic as in the capital city.

On a hot midsummer day in August last year he inspected the construction site of the regional-industry factories in Hamju County. After the inspection Kim Jong Un told the accompanying officials that the construction of hospitals in cities and counties is the foremost desire of our Party and that he was always concerned over how to make people not only in the capital but also in the local areas enjoy a civilized life in the near future, calling for braving the hardships to the end, no matter how severe they might be.

In February this year he attended the groundbreaking ceremony of a hospital and a leisure complex in Kangdong County for the Regional Development 20×10 Policy. Addressing the event, he said that building modern health facilities and multi-functional bases for leisure activities in cities and counties is a crucial and most pressing task that is of great strategic importance in accelerating the simultaneous and balanced development of all fields and all regions and bringing forward the complete victory of socialism and that it is the top priority of our Party and government to make the public health sector modern and advanced.

When he visited the construction site of the Kangdong County Hospital, he reaffirmed his determination and will to successfully build all city and county hospitals as symbols of socialist public health in the new era, which fully embody the Party's plan for modernizing public health sector and the Juche-oriented idea of architectural aesthetic beauty. When he visited the construction site of the hospital in the city of Kusong, he clearly indicated the tasks and ways for perfectly creating assets for new prosperity for the local people, exemplary entities for civilization and rejuvenation.

Going round the completed Pyongyang General Hospital in February, he said that promoting the overall public health of the country is an important revolutionary work to safeguard and develop the advantages and original features of Korean-style socialism centred on the masses of the people. Then he set forth important tasks for building modern hospitals not only at the central level but also in cities and counties across the country.

Thanks to the leadership of Kim Jong Un who regards the people’s health and wellbeing as his foremost desire and makes a new history of the development of socialist public health, assets for new prosperity for the people, exemplary entities of civilization and rejuvenation, are born in the DPRK one after another.
