The Taean Heavy Machine Complex has made innovations in the production of custom-built equipment by prioritizing the role of talents.
“The period of technical updating is shortened day by day whereas economic growth is gathering speed more than ever,” said Ri Kwang Nam, manager of the complex. “In keeping with this, we are seeking maximum efficiency every time we remodel a piece of equipment and introduce an operating system.”
The complex makes sure that every workshop builds up its own technical force by making the most of the sci-tech learning space and introduces their technical innovation plans and ideas into production in time.
It also preferentially supplies machine parts, materials, experimental equipment and IT means necessary for technical upgrading so that talents could play a leading role in modernization projects.
This gives impetus to the modernization drive with the result that simple machines have been remodelled into ones with complex structures.
The generating equipment assembly workshop has installed a laser cutter in the process of producing iron cores of high-voltage motor, laying a foundation for producing iron cores of various sizes with less labour and materials and maximum accuracy.
Invention of a series of tools and jigs, such as balancing and hoisting ones, and introduction of them to the production of custom-built equipment make it possible to cut the processing time of machine parts and improve the quality of products.
Generating equipment processing workshop No. 1 has established a new simultaneous speed control system for overhead cranes and successfully carried out an idle trial run. And it technically renovated the speed control system for a 16-metre lathe to further raise the operating rate of the equipment and its processing accuracy.
The technical development department has succeeded in solving technical problems to improve the quality of materials, the key to the production of welding rods, thus producing high-purity welding rods superior both in technical specifications and quality.
This achievement was among the eye-catchers at the Intellectual Property Development Exhibition-2024.
