The Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea stressed the need to wage a massive construction struggle in 2025, too, and, through this, make another leap forward to realize ideals.

This year the construction sector of the country should wind up the project to build 50 000 flats in Pyongyang through the fourth-stage housing construction in the Hwasong area, complete the construction of houses in the Komdok area, and continue to push ahead with housing construction in the rural communities. In particular, it should channel efforts into the construction of industrial and public facilities to accelerate the great cause of regional rejuvenation, and, on the basis of the experience gained in the construction of the Sinpho City Offshore Farm, successfully build another offshore farm in the other area on a trial basis. In addition, combined greenhouse farms with an area of hundreds of hectares should be built on Wihwa and Taji islands and there are many projects every province should bring to completion within the year.

Today, for their intuitiveness and vitality, achievements in construction help boost the people’s confidence and optimism and symbolize the development of the state.

In recent years alone a number of streets, refined in architectural and aesthetic terms, mushroomed in Pyongyang with modern rural villages springing up across the country.

Last year witnessed the construction of a batch of modern regional-industry factories as the first fruition of the Party’s regional development policy, and the appearance of the “cultured rural towns” in the flood-hit areas.

It is the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un ’s intention to bring about a turn in the construction sector to propel the overall development of socialist construction.

Well aware that their enthusiasm, responsibility and devoted efforts are important factors decisive of the success in construction, the working people in the sector set great store by ensuring quality in every construction site.

The 124th regiments of the Korean People’s Army committed to different parts of the country to implement the new regional development policy work to build up construction ranks by intensifying training of skilled workers with clear-cut goals and methods. The headquarters for the construction of 50 000 flats in Pyongyang focus on further improving construction supervision in cooperation with construction and designing personnel.

At the construction sites of rural houses, efforts are put in to modernize and standardize building equipment as part of a drive to improve quality.

With the construction goals attained without fail this year, the DPRK will make another big step forward towards civilization and development.
