2024 was a proud year in which gigantic and worthwhile undertakings for overall national prosperity and people’s wellbeing were pushed forward more vigorously than ever before.

Last year saw the start of the construction of the third-stage 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area, inauguration of the Kwangchon Chicken Farm and the Kangdong Combined Greenhouse Farm, and the completion of the construction of the second-stage 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area, Jonwi Street, dwelling houses in the flood-hit areas of North Phyongan Province and over a hundred new rural villages.

Gigantic projects were organized and conducted to bring about precious fruition in all aspects of the state affairs and socialist construction and realize the centuries-old desire of the people. In the course of this, the Korean people realized more keenly that the prosperity of their country is coming earlier and their happiness is being brought into full bloom thanks to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un ’s journey of selfless, devoted service for their good.

This is proved by the inauguration ceremony of the regional-industry factories in Songchon County for the Regional Development 20×10 Policy held on December 20 last year.

At the Tenth Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly held in January last year, he underscored the need to establish a new regional development policy. It is true that we have built the Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm and the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm, given complete face-lifts to the regional industrial factories in Kimhwa County in recent years, pushed ahead with the construction of rural dwelling houses across the country, focused on helping Kaesong live on its own efforts and carried on other projects for the people in provinces, but this is still too insufficient, he noted.

The Regional Development 20×10 Policy was set up in this way. True to the policy, the construction of the regional-industry factories in Songchon County was launched with due ceremony and pushed as an important revolutionary task for promoting the wellbeing of the local people.

Later on, Kim Jong Un visited the construction sites of the regional-industry factories one after another for the powerful implementation of the policy.

His selfless and devoted efforts to the people’s good are not confined only to the construction of modern regional-industry factories. He unveiled a plan to develop the city of Samjiyon into an exemplary northern mountainous city of the country and a characteristic combined all-season mountainous tourist resort, to satisfy the cultural and emotional demands of the people on the highest level. He also unfolded a blueprint to make effective use of the sea in conformity with the natural and geographical features of the country with a long coastline so as to improve the people’s living standards as soon as possible. Accordingly, a project went full steam ahead to create a model in Sinpho City, South Hamgyong Province. Meanwhile, he set forth a new orientation of struggle to simultaneously build advanced health facilities, grain management facilities and multi-functional cultural complexes in each city and county along with the construction of the regional-industry factories.

It is the last year’s proud success that the erection of new entities like the regional-industry factories in Songchon County in different regions of the country gave the people a sure understanding that the regions are changing and made it possible to secure the motive force to promote the regional development policy more scientifically and accurately on the basis of many-sided and rich experience.

In order to provide the people displaced by unexpected flooding with excellent cradles as soon as possible, Kim Jong Un , while leading the far-reaching drive for creation in the vanguard, launched an ambitious operation to turn the afflicted areas into a model and textbook in urbanizing, modernizing and civilizing rural areas, not merely rehabilitating them.

The whole year passed along with the blueprint of Kim Jong Un for public welfare.

The year 2024 was a year of selfless devotion of Kim Jong Un who worked heart and soul to bring happiness to the people. It was a year reminiscent of his great personality.

Today the Korean people are all out to carry out the important tasks advanced at the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea with great pride that they glorified 2024 as a year of fresh change under the leadership of Kim Jong Un .
