Goods produced by the Ponghwa Polyester Fibre Factory are popular among people.
What is interesting is that the raw material of the factory is waste plastics.
“What draws attention in recycling in different countries in recent years is that they are transforming their industrial structures into those based on recycling waste materials. And with the state concern for this growing, the Ponghwa Polyester Fibre Factory has been put into operation,” an official of the Ministry of Light Industry said.
The factory uses plastic bottles and other waste plastics as raw materials. In other words, it produces polyester fibre with waste plastics and makes cotton with that fibre to produce a variety of quilts.
According to the technicians of the factory, the most important process in the polyester fibre production is the crushing and washing of waste plastics since a small amount of foreign substance in the waste plastic pieces exerts a significant effect on the quality of the fibre.
The factory’s polyester fibre and cotton are of excellent quality.
In particular, when the single-used transparent plastic bottles are used, the fineness, lubricity, antistatic, elasticity, flexibility and smoothness indices of the fibre are confirmed to be the same as those of the imported one. And the fibre cotton ensures elasticity, flexibility, bulkiness and gloss, and is pleasant to touch.
The factory produces various kinds of padded bedding with the wadding cotton.
