Pyongyang, May 24 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, directs efforts to laying foundation for the production of finishing building materials needed for rural construction.

Rangnang District has registered high results in producing various kinds of paint and furnishings with improved qualitative indices while lowering the norms for the consumption of materials per unit.

Mangyongdae District is building a new production base with an aim of turning out building materials by its own effort, and Samsok District has stepped up the work to establish a process of producing prefabricated concrete slabs.

Ryokpho, Hyongjesan and Sadong districts and Kangdong and Kangnam counties, too, have turned out pavement blocks with high water permeability, artificial stone boards, roofing tiles and various sizes of plastic tubes while making successes in improving their quality.

Taesong and Sunan districts are taking measures to increase the production of sanitary ceramics and others in terms of quality and volume. -0-
