Comrade Choe Son Hui, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), had talks with Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam who is on a visit to the DPRK as a special envoy of the General Secretary of the C.C., Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, at the Pyongyang Assembly Hall on May 13.
Comrade Choe Son Hui expressed the stand of the DPRK government to strengthen and develop the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and Vietnam in conformity with the aspirations and desire of the two peoples on the basis of the spirit of the agreement made between the top leaders of the two parties and the two countries at the historic Pyongyang meeting in October 2025.
Comrade Le Hoai Trung noted that Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the C.C., Communist Party of Vietnam and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and the Vietnamese party, state and people are always paying deep attention to consistently giving importance to and strengthening the friendly and cooperative relations with the DPRK. He wished the Korean people bigger success in their struggle to implement the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea under the leadership of respected Comrade Kim Jong Un .
At the talks, both sides agreed to further increase exchange and cooperation between the two countries in various fields and strengthen strategic communication and support and collaboration between foreign policy organs. And they exchanged views on regional and international issues.
Present at the talks from the DPRK side were Vice-Minister Comrade Pak Sang Gil and other officials of the Foreign Ministry and from the Vietnamese side the special envoy’s party and Comrade Le Ba Vinh, Vietnamese ambassador to the DPRK.
The DPRK foreign ministry gave a reception in welcome of the special envoy that evening.
