A music and dance performance of the Mansudae Art Troupe was given at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre on April 15 in celebration of the 114th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Among the audience were Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, and other senior officials of the Party and the government, officials of ministries and national agencies, and officials and labour innovators in Pyongyang.

The national anthem of the DPRK was played.

The performance began with "Nostalgia", an immortal classic masterpiece. The performers highly praised the revolutionary career of the President who performed immortal exploits for the country and the revolution, the times and history.

Listening to the songs "Long live Generalissimo Kim Il Sung" and "The Country of the Leader", the audience cherished once again the truth that a country can be strong and its people be great only when they are guided by an outstanding leader.

Put on the stage were numbers created with light melodies and elegant rhythmic movements to show the looks of people full of joy at the new life blooming along with the ever-changing new era of comprehensive rejuvenation.

The audience was excited to see the numbers singing of the spiritual strength and indomitable spirit peculiar to the Korean people building a bright future of Korean-style socialism under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un by holding high the banner of independence in politics, self-sustenance in the economy and self-reliance in national defence.

The performance was acclaimed by the audience as it added to the people's joy and delight in celebrating the auspicious April spring holiday and their pride and honour of being blessed with the illustrious leaders generation after generation.
