The government of the DPRK arranged a reception Thursday evening in honor of Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China, on a visit to the DPRK.

Invited to the reception were the party of Chinese foreign minister, Wang Yajun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK and his embassy staff members.

Present on the occasion were Choe Son Hui, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Foreign Minister of the DPRK, and officials of the foreign ministry.

Warmly welcoming Wang Yi and his party on behalf of the government of the DPRK, she said their recent visit is a manifestation of the firm stand of the Chinese party and the government to activate the high-level visit and understanding and communication of both sides and further consolidate the ties of friendship by thoroughly implementing the major agreements reached at the historic meeting and talks of the top leaders of the DPRK and China in September last year.

She said it is a consistent stand of the Party and government of the DPRK to value and steadily consolidate and develop the DPRK-China relations which inherited the wonderful traditions of unity and cooperation overcoming all sorts of trials of history and with socialism as the core.

She wished the Chinese people fresh and greater successes in their struggle to realize the cause of national rejuvenation by accelerating the modernization of Chinese style under the leadership of the Communist Party of China with General Secretary Xi Jinping as the core.

Expressing thanks for the warm hospitality, he said the fresh successes achieved by the DPRK in socialist construction despite the intensified isolation and suffocation moves of the United States and the Western forces are a fruition of the diligence and wisdom displayed by the Korean people under the wise leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Un.

Noting that the traditional China-DPRK friendship is a valuable common asset formed in the revolutionary struggle and persistently develops in the course of socialist construction, he said the historic meeting of General Secretary Xi Jinping and General Secretary Kim Jong Un in September last year opened a new chapter of the friendly and cooperative relations between China and the DPRK,

He wished the Korean people continued new victory in socialist construction and creation of happier life under the powerful leadership of the WPK headed by General Secretary Kim Jong Un and expressed the belief that the bilateral cooperation would further develop in depth.
