Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- A joint meeting and a commemorative reception of political parties and organizations in the Nordic region took place in Sweden to celebrate the Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea.
Present there were members of political parties and organizations, organizations for the study of the Juche idea, organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people and persons from various circles in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland and the charge d'affaires ad interim of the DPRK embassy in Sweden.
The participants laid bouquets before an art work depicting President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il standing together and paid tribute to them.
Speeches were made at the event.
Figures of the Communist Party of Sweden and the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association said that the WPK demonstrated its might of unity and firm faith in socialism through its Congress.
The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un 's reelection as General Secretary of the WPK fully shows the DPRK people's absolute support and boundless trust in their leader and the harmonious whole between the Party and the popular masses, they said, adding that the Ninth Congress of the WPK marked another milestone in the history of the DPRK shining with victory.
A joint statement of political parties and organizations in the Nordic region was adopted at the event.
The statement expressed support and solidarity with the cause of the WPK as well as the stand of political parties and organizations in the Nordic region to further strengthen their friendship with the DPRK people. -0-
