Pyongyang, March 16 (KCNA) — The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un stressed in his important concluding speech at the Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea that as we have lifted the ideas of “The people are god”, single-hearted unity and self-reliance as the banner of struggle and advance during the years of the eighth term of the Party Central Committee, we should invariably be faithful to the three ideas during the years of its ninth term.

The ideas of “The people are god”, single-hearted unity and self-reliance are the powerful driving force for accelerating the comprehensive development of Korean-style socialism.

The ideal, goal and rate of advance of the DPRK are steadily changing and developing, but the above-said ideas peculiar to the Korean revolution are immutable and their inexhaustible strength is confidently pushing socialist construction of the DPRK to a bright future.

WPK’s Fundamental Idea – “People are God”

“The people are god” is the fundamental idea of the WPK that holds the people in higher esteem with sincerity.

It reflects the constant demand of the WPK to firmly maintain the revolutionary climate of the Party with the whole Party’s serving the people as the starting point of Party building and activities and the immutable principle.

We must turn everything desired by the people into brilliant entities and provide them with a new life and civilization in their lifetime, not in the distant future — This is an invariable principle our Party has consistently maintained in its revolutionary leadership for the past five years.

The construction of 50,000 flats in the capital city, the regional development policy, the programme for the rural revolution, the socialist policy for the younger generation and the new childcare policy, all of which were set forth by the WPK, are based on the idea of “The people are god” of our Party which regards the people’s intense desire as the starting point for formulating lines and policies and the realization of their dreams and ideals as the principle of its activities.

Our Party, which regards the idea as its noble political idea and creed, has taken practical measures to let the people substantially benefit from its people-oriented policies at the plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee and other major party meetings and made strenuous efforts to implement them.

The leadership of our Party with the high spirit of selfless, devoted service to the people is making a history of love in which it burdens itself with full responsibility to take care of them to the last.
