The Ninth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea was held with splendor in Pyongyang, the capital city of the revolution, between February 19 and 25, 2026,

At 9 on February 19, Comrade Kim Jong Un took the platform of the congress together with members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK.

Agenda items raised and discussed at the congress are as follows:

First, Review of the Work of the Central Committee of the WPK

Second, On the Revision of the Rules of the WPK

Third, Election of the Central Leadership of the WPK

The congress heard about the implementation of the Party and state policies during the period under review as the first process of the discussion of the first agenda item "Review of the Work of the Central Committee of the WPK."

Kim Jong Un made the historic report on the review of the work of the eighth-term Central Committee of the WPK on February 20 and 21.

The parts of the report on the review of the work of the Party Central Committee are as follows:

1. Successes made during the period under review

2. For the prosperity and development of the state and well-being of the people

3. For the expansion and strengthening of external relations

4. For the in-depth development of the Party building and work

In the first part of the report Kim Jong Un pointed out to the remarkable successes achieved during the period of the eighth-term Party Central Committee and their factors.

In the second part of the report Kim Jong Un clarified an important demand to be maintained during the period of comprehensive development and prospective goals to be attained by every sector during the period of the new five-year plan and tasks for their implementation.

In the third part of the report Kim Jong Un analyzed and evaluated the great changes made in the international political and security structure and balance of forces and the trend of the situation during the period under review.

In the fourth part of the report Kim Jong Un mentioned about the fact that the leading ability and fighting efficiency of the Party as the socialist ruling party were enhanced in every way and a new era of party building, great heyday of strengthening the whole party, was opened during the period under review.

The congress discussed the second agenda item "On the Revision of the Rules of the WPK".

The congress discussed the third agenda item "Election of the Central Leadership of the WPK".

The congress declared that the eighth-term central leadership of the Party successfully finished its work according to the rules of the WPK and elected the ninth-term Party central leadership.

It elected Kim Jong Un member of the Party Central Committee in reflection of the unanimous will and desire of the entire Party members and delegates to the Party Congress.

The delegates fully discharged their honorable mission and rights entrusted by the Party, revolution and people concerning an important event to elect the General Secretary of the WPK, the supreme post representing and leading our great Party.

They unanimously adopted the decision on reelecting the great Comrade Kim Jong Un as General Secretary of the WPK, representing the general will of the whole Party.

The first enlarged plenary meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK was held at headquarters building of the Party Central Committee on February 23.

Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK, presided over the meeting.

He made an important conclusion.

The study and consultative meetings of different sectors were held for two days in order to formulate the correct ways for the implementation of the new five-year plan and reflect them in the decision of the congress.

The first meeting of the Political Bureau of the Ninth Party Central Committee was held at the headquarters building of the Party Central Committee on February 25.

Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, guided the meeting.

The Ninth Congress of the WPK adopted the decision with unanimous approval "On Thoroughly Implementing the Tasks Outlined in the Report on the Review of the Work of the Eighth-Term Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea".

The report on the review of the work of the eighth-term Central Committee of the WPK made by Kim Jong Un and the relevant decisions will be published as inner-Party documents and distributed to the Party organizations at all levels.
