The 2026National Ski Amateurs Contest was held at the Masikryong Ski Resort in the DPRKfrom February 15 to 17 on the occasion of the lunar New Year's Day.
More than 140ski amateurs selected from across the country took part in the alpine skievents, divided into juvenile, youth and middle- and old-aged classes.
The finals ofthe players who proved successful at the preliminary stage were held onFebruary 17.
Senior Party andgovernment officials, officials of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports,officials concerned, officials and working people in Kangwon Province and skiamateurs enjoyed the contest.
Prior to thecontest, there took place a demonstration of professional skiers.
The technicalskills of the professional skiers aroused the admiration of the spectators.
Then the finalsof relevant classes took place.
The ski amateursshowed their excellent skills.
Thejuvenile-class giant slalom and old-aged class men's giant slalom drew the attentionof the spectators.
The spectatorsenjoyed a pleasant time, looking at the amateur players' interesting and"distinctive" skills.
The giantslaloms and slaloms of the middle-aged and youth classes also excited thespectators.
The ski courseson Masik Pass were filled with boundless joy and optimism.
The winners atthe finals were awarded the prizes.
The 2026National Ski Amateurs Contest added to the joy of the lunar New Year's Dayalong with working people enjoying a new socialist civilization to theirheart's content.
