Pyongyang, February 25 (KCNA) — The Ninth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea continues discussion in a responsible manner.

Members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and other members of the central leadership body of the Party are guiding the study and consultative meetings of various fields including economy, national defence, foreign affairs and Party work.

The consultative meetings, held on Feb. 24, intensified the discussion on the orientation and plans of the work of different sectors and units, on the basis of the essence and spirit of the report on the review of the work of the eighth-term Central Committee of the WPK and the important concluding speech made by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

The discussion focused on ensuring the scientific accuracy and innovative nature in applying the general goal and principle of the five-year strategy, set forth by the Ninth Congress of the WPK, to overall socialist construction.

The study and consultative meetings discussed in detail the realistic proposals for achieving gradual and qualitative development while stabilizing and consolidating the foundations for development laid during the eighth term of the Party Central Committee in the key industrial and other sectors of the national economy.

Also discussed were the technical measures to be taken in order for every sector to ensure the unity of action in dynamically pushing forward with the technical upgrading and modernization of major establishments of important significance in substantially and powerfully propelling the work for building the self-supporting national economy, the capital city construction and the regional development policy-oriented construction being carried out as the greatest desire of the Party.

Proposals are being put forward to correctly draw up scientific and reasonable plans guaranteeing the long-term development of different sectors and units, rather than immediate gains, while focusing on steadily improving the goal and standard of creation regarding the leading role of science and technology as the vital one, and to make sure that the implementation of the Party decisions turns into the course of development and creation for strengthening their own internal forces.

Fresh and forward-looking methods of ideological mobilization are being devised to steadily enhance the fighting efficiency and activity of Party organizations at all levels and boost the uplifted spirit of the masses in the struggle for carrying out the new long-term plans.

Fully displayed at the meetings are the extraordinary Party consciousness and high sense of responsibility of the delegates to make each provision of the plan for every sector the most scientific and rational cornerstone for the perfect implementation of our Party’s fighting programme, and actively suggested there were innovative and creative opinions conducive to surely guaranteeing the success of the new five-year strategy.

The results of the collective discussion are submitted to the committee for drafting the decision of the Party Congress.
