Pyongyang, February 6 (KCNA) — The Korean Central News Agency Thursday released a report on the wonderful completion of an ideal large farm town in the new era under the leadership of the great Workers’ Party of Korea Central Committee.

According to the report, an unprecedented large group of greenhouses was majestically erected in the northwestern part of the country under the outstanding leadership of the WPK.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made a bold decision to turn the flood-hit island area of North Phyongan Province into an ideal large farm town in the new era, and organized and led the grand construction operation in the vanguard.

The military and civilian builders, all out in response to the intention of the Party Central Committee, completed the construction of a large-scale greenhouse farm in a matter of one year with their strong spiritual power and stubborn practical ability.

The area of Wihwa Island has turned into a treasure zone with the successful construction of a thousand and hundreds of modern greenhouses of different types, production and auxiliary buildings and various bases for cultural life.

In particular, the Sinuiju Vegetable Science Research Center, a combination of modern dwelling houses preserving the charms unique to the region and up-to-date trial cultivation greenhouses, was built as a scientific and technological research and dissemination center for putting greenhouse vegetable production on a scientific, intensive and industrial basis to demonstrate the prospect of the country’s greenhouse vegetable production and development of a large farm town.

The great change on the shore of the Amnok River is unthinkable apart from the devoted service for the people’s wellbeing of the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un, the great father of the people.

The General Secretary attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm and the vegetable science research center in February 2025, encouraging the builders and digging up the first spadeful of earth to signal the start of the construction project.

The young builders turned out in the grand construction campaign to carry out a new regional development plan, bearing in mind the great trust and expectation of the Party Central Committee.

They made a breakthrough in stepping up the main construction by giving precedence to the construction of raising and cutting millions of cubic meters of earth, the pavement of tens of kilometers of roads, the production of more than 11 million blocks and securing over 620 000 cubic meters of aggregate in a short span of time.

The soldier-builders finished in the main the frame project for greenhouses in their charge until May 2025 by conducting the work for demonstration lectures and technical study and strengthening technical forces in accordance with the order of successive processes with the main emphasis on improving the quality of construction.

The whole area of grand construction was seething with the offensive spirit of passionate youths who demonstrated the mettle of patriotic youth in building Jonwi Street in the capital city and recovering the flood-hit areas in North Phyongan Province.

The energetic guidance of Kim Jong Un was a driving force that brought about the creation and changes in building the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm.

He provided lot of latest sci-tech data necessary for the construction of the farm and examined more than 170 pieces of layouts, including a master construction plan and panoramic drawings, and over 3 850 pieces of technical designs to turn the island area into a new model of regional development.

Under his great guidance, semi-closed glass hydroponic greenhouses, solar-heat greenhouses where the fish farming and the cultivation of vegetables are combined, and greenhouses with a solar power system could be built and the technical processes for main production and the equipment necessary for greenhouse management could be established.

At the same time, the first-stage embankment project was completed ahead of schedule in parallel with the construction of the greenhouse farm, thus laying a protective wall on the bank of the Amnok River free from any natural disaster.

In October when the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Party was significantly celebrated, Kim Jong Un visited the construction site at the final stage and stressed the need to open up a new phase of rural civilization not only in architecture but also in environmental realignment and landscape creation as the construction of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm is another gigantic creation work for promoting the independent and many-sided development of the regional economy and proving the validity and vitality of the regional development policy in the new era.

In November 2025, he again visited the construction site of the combined greenhouse farm nearing completion and said with high appreciation that it is pleasure to see the grandiose plans and tasks for comprehensive rejuvenation being carried out one by one and the wealth of creation increasing, but what our Party values more than anything else is the fact that the young people have grown up to be great cedars of patriotism in this course. And he indicated ways for operation and management of the farm.

This year, a more vigorous struggle was waged to complete the construction of the grand greenhouse farm.

On January 2, the General Secretary visited the construction site of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm and congratulated the young vanguard and soldier-builders on the New Year. And he highly praised the feats they performed to transform the island area, afflicted by a disaster, into an ideal farm town in the new era.

With his appeal of love and trust kept in their mind, all the builders stepped up the tree planting and the environmental improvement in vast areas at the final stage in the spirit of finishing the construction project, assembly of greenhouse equipment and road construction.

Officials and working people across the country helped the construction, sharing the mind with the builders.

Thanks to the energetic leadership of Kim Jong Un and the efforts of the army-civilian builders faithful to the cause of the Party, the construction of a large group of greenhouses was successfully completed.

The changes of the farm, which has made another leap forward in terms of modernity, advanced nature and profitability and architectural level aspiring after higher development than already built greenhouse farms, are a noble picture of patriotic and devoted service for the people’s wellbeing that can be presented only by the great Party Central Committee which has steadily set development-oriented goals in the struggle for national prosperity and the people’s civilized and happy life and pushed ahead with the work for their attainment.

Through radical changes in the island area clearly and again showing the higher stage and development process of regional transformation, our people hardened their confidence that all regions of the country can be turned into a paradise within 10 or 20 years as there are the outstanding leadership of Kim Jong Un and single-mind unity of all the people closely rallied around the Party Central Committee.

On February 1, Kim Jong Un attended the inauguration ceremony of the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm and had a photo session with the builders and appreciated the valuable feats of the heroic youth in the new era who built in the area of Wihua Island another monument to the great struggle to go down in the sacred history of the Korean youth movement. And he expressed the expectation and belief that the youth, officers and soldiers would redouble their youthful strength and enthusiasm and more bravely and more stoutly struggle for the bright future of the powerful country and the honor of the Korean youth.

The farm, successfully completed ahead of the Ninth Congress of the WPK, will proudly demonstrate its name before the times and history year after year as a model edifice in the era of comprehensive national rejuvenation, thanks to the grand plan of Kim Jong Un for regional construction and his seasoned leadership and patriotic loyalty of the army-civilian builders, the report stressed.
