One day in August 2024, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited a flood-hit area in North Phyongan Province.
That day he told the officials to take decisive measures for taking care of the life of the disaster victims during the reconstruction of the afflicted areas in the provinces of North Phyongan, Jagang and Ryanggang. He said: We should look after them well so that they could get along without feeling any inconveniences, not confining ourselves to bringing them to Pyongyang and providing them with board and lodging.
He went on to say that a temporary mobile educational team should be set up to give education to the students of primary and secondary school courses.
Accordingly, well over a hundred rooms in April 25 Hostel in the capital city were rearranged into classrooms, laboratories, offices, children’s union rooms and rooms for teachers and nursery workers and furnished with numerous educational apparatuses and fixtures. All the children were provided with textbooks, and a mobile educational team staffed with highly qualified nursery workers and teachers was organized.
The task force existed for 130 days during which it carried out the education programme included in the curricula of the universal 12-year compulsory education.
The teachers involved in it demonstrated their high educational qualifications and applied diverse and superior teaching methods to remarkably improve the academic performance of the students in the short period of time. Thanks to their painstaking efforts, scores of the students who were educated at the hostel became university students after graduation from their senior middle schools.
