The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the Sinuiju Combined Greenhouse Farm under construction on January 2.
All the young builders raised enthusiastic cheers as they met the General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, whom they had been longing to see so much.
Kim Jong Un extended warm greetings of encouragement to them on behalf of the Party Central Committee, the government of the DPRK and all the people, saying that he came there just after the national celebration to share the beginning of 2026 with the young vanguard and soldier-builders, who were greeting the new year at the northwestern tip of the country far away from their families and beloved homes.
The project, started in February 2025, covers the simultaneous construction of various shapes of vegetable greenhouses, vegetable processing plant, storage facilities, vegetable science research centre, experimental cultivation greenhouses, modern flats and hostel, and neighbourhood-serving amenities.
In order to provide the people in the border area with a civilized and stable life, Kim Jong Un decided to build a greenhouse farm larger than all the greenhouse farms built in recent years put together, and entrusted the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade and other groups of young people with the project. He also shovelled the first spadeful of earth for the project and visited the construction site several times to give energetic guidance to it.
The young builders carried out the uphill task of construction work and assembly of greenhouse equipment in less than a year.
That day Kim Jong Un said: Witnessing the soaring spirit of our young people and seeing every creation associated with the passion and sincerity of our young generation, our people are picturing in their mind their motherland that will prosper forever; and seeing your vigorous growth, they are assured that our style of socialism is being succeeded. There is no such younger generation as the Korean youth in the world. For our Party responsible for the future of the country, this is a source of great happiness and satisfaction.
