The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, sent a message of greetings to Thongloun Sisoulith, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party, on January 8.
The message said:
Dear Comrade General Secretary,
I extend warm congratulations to you on the successful holding of the 12th Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and on your reelection as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the LPRP.
Your reassumption of the heavy responsibility of the General Secretary is an expression of the deep trust and expectation of the entire members of your party and the Lao people for you devoting yourself to the party, the state and the people in a responsible way.
I hope that the fraternal Lao people would achieve a fresh progress in the struggle for implementing the decisions of the party congress under your leadership.
I express the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between our two parties and two countries with a long history and tradition would be further strengthened and developed in all fields in conformity with the spirit of the agreement reached at our meeting in Pyongyang in October last year.
I wish you good health and great success in your responsible work.
