Early on October 1, 2020, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the rehabilitation site in flood-stricken Kimhwa County, Kangwon Province, to learn about the construction of dwelling houses.
An accompanying official told him that the local people were very pleased that new houses were being constructed in the afflicted area.
He said that if they looked back after finishing the rehabilitation project they would feel greatly proud of their efforts, adding that they would do so because they rebuilt the houses in a completely new style, not in the same way as their previous ones, as part of their rehabilitation campaign.
In fact, he had made great efforts for the housing construction in the afflicted area.
When disaster struck the county, he had made sure that a helicopter was sent there to ascertain the extent of the damage, ordered an immediate dispatch of army units to the area and taken every possible measure for the rehabilitation work.
Still mindful, he personally visited the area and looked round the reconstruction site.
Before leaving, he said: We should perfectly wrap up the housing construction with no minor defects. As we are building them for the people, we should exert a great deal of effort to finish them flawlessly and meticulously. By doing so, we ought to receive a positive appraisal from the locals that their village has undergone a sea change thanks to the People’s Army.
