Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and First Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and other senior officials of the Party, the government and the military, officials of the Party Central Committee, and officials of the Standing Committee of the SPA, the Cabinet and armed forces organs visited the Patriotic Martyrs Cemetery in Sinmi-ri of Pyongyang on the 15th on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation.
The cemetery was also visited by bereaved families of the martyrs.
Guards of honour of the Korean People's Army were standing at the cemetery.
Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music, wreaths were laid at the monument of the cemetery in the name of the Central Committee of the WPK, the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, the Standing Committee of the SPA of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK.
The visitors observed a moment's silence in memory of the martyrs.
Then, they laid bouquets and flowers before the gravestones of the martyrs and paid a noble tribute to them.
