The spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council of China has recently denounced and rejected a statement by the Taiwanese chief executive as distorting history and advocating “independence”.
Stating that the Taiwanese chief executive advocated “Taiwan Independence” under the signboard of “unity” in various places, the spokesperson condemned as follows:
The chief executive’s assertion constitutes an intentional distortion of the Taiwanese history in disregard of the jurisdiction over Taiwan exercised by the successive Chinese governments. Making such reckless remarks as “Taiwan doesn’t belong to China, “ and “Taiwan is not subordinate to China, “ is a flagrant breach and downright defiance of the international laws.
No matter how hard he tries, the Taiwanese chief executive can neither change the fact that Taiwan is part of China nor undermine the basic structure of the international community adhering to the One-China principle, the spokesperson stressed.
The spokesperson denounced the Taiwanese chief executive who is stirring up the Taiwanese public sentiment and worsening the cross-strait relations.
