The word “orphan” in human history has long stood for children without primary caregivers in a miserable and lonely plight devoid of any happiness and laughter, and it has been a synonym of sympathy and compassion.

Contrary to the lexical meaning of the word, the orphans in the DPRK are living a blessed life with nothing to envy in the world. Witnessing the brilliant reality of the country with pride, the Korean people are looking back with deep emotion on the great father’s whole-hearted devotion to the children.

9 years back on July 2, 2016, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the newly-built Pyongyang secondary boarding school in spite of sweltering heat.

With tender affection of a father who is more considerate of the children sick or heartbroken, he looked around every part of the campus lest there is a slight flaw in the building to be used by the children without parents. He took thorough and detailed measures for providing the children with sufficient food, stationery and daily necessities.

He emphasized the need to well-educate the children so that they can display their talents and realize their dreams to their hearts’ content. Wearing a broad smile on his face, he said that all the parentless children are sons and daughters of the Party and that our Party is blessed with many sons and daughters.

Children may stop crying if they are given something to eat. But they will never smile without fatherly love and affection.

The honorable purpose of our revolution lies in the work for the coming generations. With this noble view on the young generations in his mind, respected Comrade Kim Jong Un built homes of love for the parentless children and continues to take meticulous care of their future even far ahead. The children, free from any worries, are developing their talents and hopes in great joy and happiness, and grow up healthy into pillars of the future.

Thanks to the benevolent policy of the socialist system which prioritizes all work for the children over all other state affairs, all the children, no matter where they live, benefit from the universal 12-year compulsory education and grow up into young prodigies, to the amazement of the world people.

The Korean people take something even stronger in their hearts as they see the happiness of their children in comparison with the misery of many young victims of various social inequality and ills including wars, natural disasters, crimes, racial discrimination and maltreatment of immigrants.

Rise and fall of a nation does not hinge on its size or wealth. A rosy future of a country and her people is guaranteed by the leadership of a great and outstanding leader and father of the people.
