People are now touched by the admirable deed of Choe Ju Ok, a teacher of Inhung Junior Middle School in Moranbong District, Pyongyang, who made devoted efforts for Kim Wi Jong, a son of an honoured disabled soldier, Kim Chol Ung.
Wi Jong entered the junior middle school last year.
At that time, Chol Ung was sick with worries.
It was because as he was a disabled soldier and his wife had been bedridden for an incurable disease for years, they were unable to pay due attention to their child as much as others.
But one day before the school sports day, Choe Ju Ok visited their house, introducing herself as the teacher in charge of Wi Jong’s class.
And she offered them a plastic bag containing things necessary for the sports meeting, asking them not to tell about it to Wi Jong.
With a lump in his throat, Chol Ung could say nothing.
Since Wi Jong’s entrance to school, he had never met the teacher, but she called on them with necessary things for the sports meeting and therefore he felt sorry and yet grateful.
Afterwards Choe Ju Ok continued to take special care of Wi Jong.
One summer day last year, the boy could not go to school as he had a high fever.
That day, too, the teacher visited his home to provide private lessons.
Chol Ung was very surprised to see the sweating teacher coming back to his home with medicines in her hand.
He and his wife were finally moved to tears by the sincerity of the teacher who not only made devoted efforts for their son’s study lest he should fall behind other students but paid close attention to his medical treatment.
Seeing the boy’s parents shedding tears, Ju Ok said that Wi Jong is a student who should grow up as an admirable person like his father who unhesitatingly sacrificed himself for the country and that she only tried to become an educator desired by the Workers’ Party of Korea.
"Seeing teacher Choe Ju Ok, I have keenly felt once again the gratitude towards our social system which warmly cares for and puts forward honoured disabled soldiers and even their children," Chol Ung said.
