Many scientists in the DPRK put their heart and soul into implementing the Regional Development 20x10 Policy of the Workers’ Party of Korea. Pak Sin Chol, a researcher at the foodstuff application technology institute of Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry, is one of them.
It was in early April 2006 when he was assigned to the institute after finishing the post-graduate course of the university.
The first project he engaged in was a modernization project of the Pyongyang Wheat Flour Processing Factory, in which he played an important part in establishing a system of producing flour-based goods. Later he introduced into foodstuff factories his ten-odd research findings related with advanced bread quality improvement agent, domestic production and quality improvement of bog bilberry jelly and comprehensive processing of soybean, actively contributing to improving the people’s livelihood.
In late January last year he was given an assignment of taking charge of the designing of the equipment for producing oil to be installed in foodstuff factories which would be built in cities and counties.
He focused on developing an efficient refining machine in an original way.
Through strenuous efforts he came up with new ideas and succeeded in manufacturing such a machine in cooperation with relevant manufacturers.
Last year he helped equip the regional-industry factories newly built in 20 cities and counties with oil refining machines that conform to the characteristic features of the given regions.
At the inauguration ceremony of the regional-industry factories built in Jaeryong County of South Hwanghae Province, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un examined the taste and smell of the oil the foodstuff factory produced on a trial basis and appreciated that the oil was refined on a high level.
