The Electric Power Industry Research Institute under the Ministry of Electric Power Industry has made a progress in the effort to ensure the safety in the power system.
In an effort to minimize the damage caused by natural disasters, the researchers at the institute developed a new counter that offers a constant supply of real-time information on arresters in operation and helps protect power equipment on the basis of prompt analysis of the cause of possible accidents.
They studied advanced technical data and manufacturing techniques of foreign countries to produce a highly efficient counter that suits the specific conditions of the country.
After years of painstaking efforts they developed a new arrester counter that is far superior to the previous models in terms of precision.
They introduced the achievement to the Jagang provincial power distribution station and other units, verifying its superiority and building up a production line by which to satisfy the nationwide demand for the equipment.
