Thunder of Victory in June 75 Years Ago

Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung won a brilliant victory in the Fatherland Liberation War (June 25, 1950-July 27, 1953) with his iron will, matchless courage and pluck. The President convened an emergency meeting of the Cabinet on June 25, 1950, when the U.S. imperialists' invasion of the DPRK started. At the time when all the participants in the meeting were worried in the face of the grim reality that the war is between the young DPRK and the U.S. imperialists, the ringleader of world imperialists, the resonant voices of the President who said "The enemies are foolish. The Yankees misjudged the Koreans!" were heard like thunder at the corridor of the hall of the emergency meeting of the Cabinet. Entering the meeting hall, the President looked around and declared that the we should show the mettle of the Korean people to the Yankees who look down upon the Koreans, not aware of them, just as the wolves should be tamed with a stick. The courage and pluck of the illustrious commander to show the mettle of the Korean people with a stick, regarding the U.S. imperialists as a wolf running recklessly, removed the momentary uneasiness and fear of the participants in the meeting and instilled confidence in victory into them. The victory was already decided on the first day when the U.S. imperialist aggressors provoked the Korean War. The U.S. imperialists' bombast that the destiny of the DPRK "would be settled within 72 hours" turned into a surrender document after three years when 72 hours were repeated hundreds of times, and the Korean people proudly fired fireworks of war victory with joy and excitement of defeating the U.S. imperialists for the first time in history. The victory in the Fatherland Liberation War which smashed to atoms the myth about the "mightiness" of the U.S. imperialists and brought about the beginning of a downhill turn for them is recorded in the proud history of the DPRK as the victory of the extraordinary military wisdom and outstanding commanding art of the President and the great victory of the faith in sure victory, pluck and optimism.
