Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- A national memorial service took place at Kim Il Sung Square on July 8 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung. Ri Il Hwan, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, made a memorial address "The sacred revolutionary exploits of the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung will be immortal". Noting that 30 years have lapsed since President Kim Il Sung, greeted and held in high esteem by the Korean people for the first time in the nation's history spanning thousands of years, passed away, the memorial address said: One generation has fully grown and the whole country has changed beyond recognition with the lapse of time, but the beaming image of the warm and tender-hearted President can be seen in all parts of the country seething with the efforts for creation, and the blood ties between him and the people are given steady continuity along with touching anecdotes about the President's great benevolence told in every family full of new life. For the past 30 years our people have ardently missed the President, holding him in high esteem with the deepest reverence. During those days and months they have put the dignity and glory of the socialist motherland of Juche, the precious patriotic legacy of the President, on the highest level under the uplifted red flag of the revolution associated with his whole life. The revolutionary career of the President was the one of a great revolutionary and a great man who devoted his absolute and boundless love and devotion to the country and its people, performed miracles unprecedented in history and created an immortal image that will shine for all ages. In the great Kim Il Sung's era, the world saw the peerlessly great leader who accomplished the most glorious causes at all complicated and gigantic stages of the revolution despite twists and turns of history. The greatest of his exploits for the country, revolution, history and people are the ideological and theoretical exploits he performed by ushering in a new era of historical development with the brilliant rays of the Juche idea. Thanks to the birth of the great Juche idea, our people found a way to achieve national restoration and, at the same time, the oppressed working masses of the world were provided with a theoretical weapon for putting an end to the history of reactionary ideology which had served to deceive and enslave them. It is the greatest exploit performed by the President before the times and history that he provided the most people-oriented, scientific and revolutionary guiding ideology and put forward the immortal banner steering the future of the cause of the masses of the people for independence, the socialist cause. His whole life is run through with the immortal exploits he performed by taking back the deprived dignity of the country and its people and glorifying it further under the banner of independence and self-reliance. Today's miraculous changes, in which the era of our state-first principle is ushered in and the national prestige of the Republic is fully demonstrated, are a precious fruition provided on the basis of the patriotic feats of the President who restored and defended the dignity of the country and its people and cultivated their inexhaustible strength. The President is always alive in the hearts of not only the Korean people but also hundreds of millions of world people as he made immortal contributions to the international communist movement and the human cause of independence under the unfurled banner of independence against imperialism all his life. Thanks to the noble internationalist obligation and energetic external activities of the President who powerfully encouraged the peoples of different countries in their struggle against aggression and war, domination and subjugation with firm solidarity and selfless support, the anti-imperialist independent forces grew stronger and the international position and influence of the DPRK remarkably increased. It is the greatest of his feats for the revolution and the future that the President solved the issue of eternal succession to the leadership most correctly and reliably with a noble sense of responsibility for the future of the country and revolution.
